What's included

How it typically works

  1. 1

    Surface preparation

Providers typically sweep or blow debris, address oil or grease staining, and remove old marking residue where needed before laying out new lines.

  2. 2

    Layout and marking

For new layouts, the provider measures and marks stall spacing and traffic flow before painting. For restriping, they typically follow the existing layout unless you request changes.

  3. 3

    Painting and drying

Traffic paint is generally touch-dry within about an hour and ready for vehicle traffic within a few hours under good conditions, though this varies with paint type, temperature, and humidity — your provider will confirm timing and can often schedule after-hours work to minimize disruption.

What affects pricing

We don't publish fixed prices — your matched provider gives you a direct estimate based on your project. Factors that typically affect cost include:

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if I need restriping or a new layout?
If your lot already has a layout you're happy with and the lines have simply faded, that's restriping. If you're working with a newly paved lot, an expansion, or want to change how parking is organized, that's a new layout. Not sure? Select "Not sure" on the quote form and your matched provider will help you decide.
How often should a parking lot be restriped?
It depends on traffic volume, climate exposure, and how visible the lines still are. See our full guide for more detail, or request a quote and a local provider can assess your lot directly.
Can striping be done after business hours?
Many providers offer evening or weekend scheduling to avoid disrupting business operations — mention your scheduling constraints when you request a quote.
